The savings will definitely show up on your electric bill. That's the good news. The extent of the savings depends on many factors. But to over simplify:If your electric bill is $100 a month and lets assume one quarter of that is attributable to lighting. Then lets say every light bulb in the house is 100 watts and you replace them with 20 watt compact florescent lights (cfl's). You'll have reduced your monthly lighting expense from $25 to $5 (one fifth, 100/20). This would give you a savings of $20 per month or a $240 per year savings!

Two topics - "does it help?" yes for sure - these use less energy - so they help and we should use them..."can you save $200 a year" not likely...but you might well save more than the cost of the bulb - so in reality - over a year of two - the bulb is basiclly fee - that is a great deal - and a good green thing to do...dan
